Draft Motion Language Staff requests council consideration of this matter and action in the form of the following motion: Motion to appoint Council Member Matt Benjamin as the City of Boulder’s representative on the Boulder County Elected Officials Regional Working Group on Homelessness and to appoint Council Member Tina Marquis as first alternate.
Executive Summary Council Members discussed this appointment at the January 22nd, 2026, City Council meeting. Council Members Matt Benjamin and Mark Wallach both expressed interest in serving as Boulder’s elected representative on the Boulder County Elected Officials Regional Working Group on Homelessness, and Council Member Tina Marquis expressed interest in serving as alternate. This motion will formally appoint Council Member Matt Benjamin as Boulder’s representative for 2026. It will also formally appoint Council Member Tina Marquis as first alternate for 2026.
Next Steps for City Council Internal and external council committee appointments are reviewed annually by council, and council members will have the opportunity to discuss potential changes to appointments for 2027 at the end of this year or early next year.
