Policy Highlights: IKA/IKAA/IKAB, Grading Systems and Student Progress Reports ●
Requires district administration and professional staff to collaboratively devise a grading and reporting system for evaluating and reporting student progress that reflects student performance in relation to Board-adopted content standards, benchmarks, and essential learning results of the curriculum.

Requires each school to develop specific written homework guidelines to encourage consistency among teachers at the same grade levels, within the same subject areas, or within the same programs

Establishes general guidelines for homework, when assigned: ○ Grades K-3: an average of 10-30 minutes per night ○ Grades 4-5: an average of 30-50 minutes per night ○ Grades 6-8: an average of 45-90 minutes per night. ○ For students at the secondary level, homework loads will be affected by individual course selections. 5
