Academics Highlights Early Childhood Education As of 7/23, 766 PK students enrolled for 26-27 (July 2025 we had 722) Gifted Education New Positions: Director of Gifted & High School Itinerant Gifted Advisor Literacy All K-3 teachers receiving aligned decodables & connected PD Math (STEAM) Beginning Phase 2 of Illustrative Math in K-5; all schools in Year 1 or 2 Professional Learning Organized all district-wide educator PD on August 5 & 6 Social Studies (STEAM) New 6-8 curricular resource: Imagine Learning Traverse 10

Information Technology IT Core Summer Work Summer Sweeps: All schools tech-ready. Device Distribution: 4,600+ devices deployed. Classroom Tech Refresh: Launched new school technology purchasing program. Repairs & EOL: Thousands of devices refurbished, redistributed, or recycled. Data Warehouse: Assessment data loaded for timely analysis. Firewall Update: District firewalls were upgraded with capacity and features to keep district networks safe for 7 years.

IT Special Project: Network Implementation Network Refresh Installation: We are modernizing the district’s digital backbone! We are partnering with HPE Aruba to replace our aging hardware with top-of-the-line tech. What happens next: ● July 2026 - Equipment starts to arrive ● July/August 2026 - Installation begins ● August 2026 - May 2027 - Systematic rollout installation across the district. Installation work will take place nights and weekends. ● June 30, 2027 - Installation and onboarding to Aruba will be complete 24

Information Technology - Grad+ Interns Cultivating Tomorrow's Technology Leaders: The IT department successfully hosted five interns through the Grad+ Summer Leadership Academy. These students engaged in meaningful work across various functional departments, where they gained practical experience and delivered presentations on the potential applications of Agentic AI. Additionally, the IT department continues to support broader internship opportunities beyond the Grad+ program.

Introducing the BVSD App BVSD is now using Apptegy, an app-based messaging tool that all families can download to communicate with schools, their teachers, and the district. All schools, all in one place for BVSD families. The app features a live feed of news and updates, the ability to receive push notifications, and two-way communication between teachers, coaches and parents.
